Returning Home began its life as an experiment in photobashing. Using photos from Noah Bradley's Norway reference pack (http://reference.pictures/norway/), shutterstock, and some from a friend who specializes in boats, I put together a rough sketch of what I was hoping to achieve in a painting. This painting became an excellent test of Kyle T Webster's impressionist brushes in Photoshop, which were used extensively with some tweaks for the water, forest, and mountains.
